Instructions:

  1. In a heavy-bottomed pan, mix the powdered milk and confectioners’ sugar together.

  2. Cook the mixture on very low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring continuously until it thickens into a creamy paste.

  3. Once the mixture reaches a thick consistency and starts leaving the sides of the pan, it is ready.

  4. Transfer the mixture onto a greased plate or tray, spreading it evenly to about 1-inch thickness.

  5. Sprinkle sliced almonds and cashews over the top, gently pressing them into the surface of the mixture.

  6. Allow the Kalakand to cool down to room temperature.

  7. Once cooled, cut the Kalakand into squares or diamond shapes using a sharp knife.
