Bergie’s Fish Filets 🐟

Description:

I just threw this together and found it quite tasty so thought I would share it. Any fish will do. I used New Zealand Blue Hoki. Cod works well for this recipe. Sub whipped cottage cheese for the sour cream if you want to.

Ingredients:

Quantity Ingredient
2 Fish filets
2 Sour cream
1 Lemon juice
1 Light soy sauce
1 Instant minced garlic
1 Lemon zest (optional)
4 Lemon slices (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare an ovenproof dish.

  2. Prepare the fish filets: Place the fish filets in the ovenproof dish in a single layer.

  3. Prepare the sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, lemon juice, light soy sauce, and instant minced garlic. Optionally, add lemon zest for extra flavor.

  4. Coat the filets: Spoon the sauce generously over the fish filets, ensuring they are evenly coated.

  5. Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes, allowing the fish to cook through and the flavors to meld.

  6. Broil for browning: After baking, switch your oven setting to broil and broil the fish filets for a few minutes until they develop a golden brown crust on top.

  7. Serve: Once nicely browned, remove the dish from the oven. Garnish with lemon slices for a fresh touch. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Bergie’s Fish Filets!
