Ingredients:
- 4 cups cooked spaghetti
- 1/4 cup butter + extra for greasing
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups hot chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons dry sherry
- Salt, to taste
- 3 cups cooked turkey slices
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Butter a 2-quart shallow baking dish and spread the cooked spaghetti evenly in it.
- In a heavy pan, melt the 1/4 cup of butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the flour and blend until smooth, cooking for about 2 minutes while stirring constantly.
- Gradually add the hot chicken broth, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens.
- Bring the sauce to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream, add salt to taste, and heat the sauce thoroughly.
- Stir the nutmeg, dry sherry, and additional salt into the sauce, then set aside.
- In a skillet, melt the remaining butter and saute the sliced mushrooms until soft.
- Spoon half of the sauce over the spaghetti in the baking dish.
- Arrange the cooked turkey slices and sautéed mushrooms on top of the sauce.
- Cover the turkey and mushrooms with the remaining sauce.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
