Instructions:
-
Prepare the Ingredients:
Start by peeling and slicing the red onion thinly. Set it aside. In a large, hot pan, fry the bacon slices until crispy, then remove them and let them drain on a paper towel to remove excess fat. -
Separate the Eggs:
Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites. You’ll need 4 egg yolks and 5 egg whites for this recipe. Make sure to place each yolk in a separate small bowl to prevent breakage. -
Whip the Egg Whites:
Using an electric hand mixer, beat the egg whites until they begin to form soft peaks. As they start to firm up, add a pinch of salt to help stabilize the whites. Continue beating until the egg whites become fluffy and form stiff peaks. -
Cook the Egg:
In the same pan where you cooked the bacon, place a round mold (approximately 9 cm in diameter). Pour a tablespoon of whipped egg white into the mold, followed by one egg yolk in the center. Cook on medium-high heat until the egg white is set and firm, but the yolk remains runny. Once ready, remove the egg carefully and keep it warm. -
Toast the Buns:
Slice the hamburger buns in half and lightly toast them in the pan on the cut side until golden and crisp. Once toasted, add a slice of cheddar cheese to the bottom half of each bun. Cover with a lid to melt the cheese, then remove from the heat. -
Assemble the Egg Burger:
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a few crispy lettuce leaves (washed and dried) followed by some thinly sliced red onion rings. Then, gently place the cooked egg on top of the lettuce. -
Finish and Serve:
Close the sandwich with the other half of the bun and serve immediately, ensuring the runny yolk adds a rich touch to each bite.
Enjoy your delicious, crispy, and creamy Egg Burger! Perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.
