Crispy Fried Bandeng Otak-Otak with Egg

Ingredients:

  • 2 pieces of Bandeng Otak-Otak (mackerel fish cakes)
  • 1 egg
  • Masako seasoning to taste (or other seasoning of your choice)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Begin by slicing the Bandeng Otak-Otak that has been removed from its banana leaf wrapping into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a mixing bowl, crack the egg and beat it thoroughly. Add Masako seasoning to taste, and mix until well combined.
  3. Dip each piece of Bandeng Otak-Otak into the seasoned egg mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated fish cakes to the pan.
  5. Fry until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  6. Once cooked to a perfect crisp, remove the otak-otak from the pan and drain excess oil on a plate lined with paper towels.
