Baby Pastel Isi Abon Sapi Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams all-purpose flour
  • 50 grams margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 75 ml water
  • Salt to taste
  • Flavor enhancer (optional)
  • 250 grams beef floss (abon sapi)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, margarine, egg, salt, and flavor enhancer if using. Gradually add the water, a little at a time, while mixing until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.

  2. Roll Out the Dough: Once the dough is well-kneaded and smooth, roll it out on a lightly floured surface using a rolling pin. Aim for a thin, even layer.

  3. Cut and Fill: Using a round cutter or glass, cut the rolled dough into circular pieces. Place a small amount of beef floss (abon sapi) in the center of each circle.

  4. Shape the Pastels: Fold the dough over the filling to form a crescent or half-moon shape, pressing the edges together to seal. You can use a fork or a special pastry tool to crimp the edges if desired.

  5. Fry the Pastels: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the filled pastries into the pan. Fry until they turn golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.

  6. Drain and Cool: Remove the pastels from the oil and drain on paper towels. Allow them to cool completely.

  7. Store and Enjoy: Once cooled, transfer the pastels to an airtight container and seal tightly. They are perfect for snacking and can be enjoyed anytime.

Enjoy these delightful homemade Baby Pastel Isi Abon Sapi, lovingly made and sure to be a hit at any gathering!
