Instructions:
-
Prepare the Rolade:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, ground black pepper, ground nutmeg, coarse breadcrumbs, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions. Shape each portion into a log or roll, ensuring it’s compact and evenly shaped.
- Wrap each roll tightly in aluminum foil, which has been lightly greased with oil. Steam the rolls for about 45 minutes. Once steamed, allow the rolls to cool slightly before unwrapping.
-
Fry the Rolade:
- After the rolls have cooled, slice them into approximately 1.5 cm thick pieces.
- Dip each piece in the beaten egg and fry in hot oil until golden brown and crispy. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
-
Make the Sauce:
- In a pan, heat a little oil and sauté the sliced onion and minced garlic until fragrant.
- Add a sufficient amount of water to the pan and bring it to a simmer.
- Stir in the oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, ground black pepper, and ground nutmeg. Adjust seasoning with sugar and salt as needed.
- Gradually add the dissolved cornstarch, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency. Remove from heat.
-
Serve:
- Arrange the fried rolade slices on a serving platter. Drizzle with the prepared sauce.
- Serve with French fries, steamed carrots and green beans, and boiled sweet corn on the side for a complete meal.
