Ingredients:

For Crispy Beef:
- 200 grams of beef (approximately), thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon white pepper
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 small piece of ginger (grated)
- Juice of 1 lime
For Black Pepper Sauce:
- 1 medium onion (or ½ if large), finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons coarsely ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- Salt to taste
- Sugar to taste
Instructions:
-
Marinate the Beef:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with garlic powder, white pepper, soy sauce, grated ginger, and lime juice. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
-
Prepare the Crispy Beef:
- After marinating, coat the beef slices with all-purpose flour.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat and fry the coated beef until it turns golden brown and crispy. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
-
Cook the Sauce:
- In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed and sauté the minced garlic and chopped onion until they become fragrant and translucent.
- Add approximately 150 ml of water to the pan.
- Stir in the oyster sauce, soy sauce, and coarsely ground black pepper. Mix everything thoroughly and adjust the seasoning with salt and sugar to taste.
-
Thicken the Sauce:
- If the sauce is too thin, you can thicken it by adding a slurry of cornstarch and water.
-
Combine Beef and Sauce:
- Add the crispy beef back into the pan and stir gently to coat the beef evenly with the sauce. Be careful not to stir too long to maintain the crispiness of the beef.
-
Serve:
- Transfer the black pepper beef to a serving dish and enjoy with steamed rice or noodles.
