Nuget Ikan Patin ala Mbak Am

Ingredients

Ikan Patin (Catfish) 2 whole fish
Ground Black Pepper To taste
Seasoning Powder To taste
Salt To taste
Carrot (shredded) 1 medium
Garlic 5 cloves, minced
Eggs 2 large
Oil (for frying) As needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fish: Steam the catfish without any seasoning until fully cooked. Once steamed, carefully separate the flesh from the bones.

  2. Blend the Fish: In a blender, process the steamed catfish until smooth, adding no water.

  3. Mix the Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the blended catfish with seasoning powder, salt, ground black pepper, and shredded carrot. Add the egg whites and mix well until fully incorporated.

  4. Steam the Mixture: Transfer the mixture into a steaming dish and steam until set and cooked through.

  5. Cool and Shape: Allow the steamed mixture to cool. Once cooled, cut into desired nugget shapes.

  6. Prepare for Frying: Heat oil in a frying pan. Dip each nugget into beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs.

  7. Fry the Nuggets: Fry the nuggets in the hot oil until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
