Pecel Lele Recipe: A Taste of Indonesian Delight

Ingredients:

  • 10 catfish (ikan lele), cleaned
  • 10 red chilies (cabe merah)
  • 8 bird’s eye chilies (cabe rawit)
  • 1 red onion (bawang merah)
  • 1 garlic clove (bawang putih)
  • 2 kaffir lime leaves (jeruk limau)
  • 1 small packet of roasted shrimp paste (trasi ABC)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Brown sugar, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Catfish:

    • Clean the catfish thoroughly. Rub them with salt and squeeze the juice of one kaffir lime over them. Let them marinate for a few minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
    • After marinating, fry the catfish in hot oil until golden brown and crispy. Set aside.

    • Arrange the fried catfish on a serving plate.
    • Spoon the sambal generously over the catfish.
    • Gently press the sambal into the catfish to ensure it adheres well.
  4. Serve:
