Ingredients
- 250 grams whole chicken breast, sliced horizontally but not completely through
- 1 slice smoked beef, cut into 2 pieces
- Mozzarella cheese, as needed for filling
- Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
- Breadcrumbs, as needed
- 1 egg, beaten (you can use egg whites only)
- Flour, for dredging
- For serving:
- French fries
- Mayonnaise/cheese sauce/other condiments (I used cheese sauce)
- Chili sauce

Prepare the Chicken:
- Slice the chicken breast horizontally, being careful not to cut all the way through, to create a “butterfly” cut.
- Open up the chicken breast and season both sides with salt and ground black pepper.

Assemble the Filling:
- Place the smoked beef slices and mozzarella cheese on one half of the chicken breast.
- Fold the other half of the chicken over the filling to cover it.

Coat the Chicken:
- Dredge the stuffed chicken breast in flour, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Dip it into the beaten egg, letting any excess drip off.
- Roll the chicken in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well.

Cook the Chicken:
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken and cook slowly to ensure it cooks through without burning the breadcrumbs.
- If the chicken breasts are large, after frying, drain the chicken and place it in a preheated oven at 150-160°C (300-320°F) for about 20 minutes. For smaller pieces, this step may not be necessary.

- Serve the Chicken Cordon Bleu whole or sliced, according to your preference.
- Accompany with French fries and your choice of condiments such as cheese sauce or chili sauce.
