Nugget Ayam & Homemade Tomato Sauce
Ingredients
For the Nuggets:
- 250 grams chicken fillet, coarsely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 packet tofu, finely chopped
- Grated carrot, to taste
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- Finely chopped celery, to taste
- Grated cheese, to taste
- Salt, to taste
For the Coating:

- 1 egg, beaten
- Bread crumbs, as needed
For the Tomato Sauce:
- 1 ripe tomato, finely chopped
- Water, as needed
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
Preparing the Nuggets:
- In a blender, combine the coarsely chopped chicken fillet, egg, and salt. Blend until smooth.
- Transfer the chicken mixture to a bowl and add the finely chopped tofu, grated carrot, minced garlic, cornstarch, finely chopped celery, grated cheese, and additional salt if needed. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Prepare a steamer and lightly grease a baking pan with a little oil.
- Pour the nugget mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
- Steam the mixture for about 15-20 minutes. Check for doneness by ensuring the mixture is no longer sticky.
- Once cooked, let the mixture cool slightly, then cut it into desired nugget shapes.
- Dip each nugget piece into the beaten egg, then roll it in bread crumbs until well coated.
- In a frying pan, heat oil over medium heat. Fry the nuggets until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the nuggets from the oil and drain on paper towels. Any leftover nuggets can be stored in the freezer for later use.

- In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil.
- Add the finely chopped tomato and salt to the boiling water.
- Stir the mixture until the tomato breaks down and the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
- Serve the hot, crispy chicken nuggets with the freshly made tomato sauce.
