Crispy Chicken Steak with Homemade Steak Sauce
Ingredients:
- 2 chicken breast fillets
- For Wet Batter:
- 3 tbsp seasoning flour (e.g., Sajiku)
- Water, as needed to thin the batter
- For Dry Coating:
- 6 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- Steak Sauce:
- 1 tbsp seasoning flour
- 1 large clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- Margarine, as needed
- Sugar, salt, pepper to taste
- For Serving:
- Boiled carrots
- Boiled green beans
- Boiled corn (optional)
- French fries
- Chili sauce
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Steak Sauce:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of margarine in a pan until melted. Add the seasoning flour and cook over low heat until golden brown. Briefly sauté the minced garlic.
- Stir in water, oyster sauce, sugar, pepper, and salt to adjust seasoning. Cook until thickened. If the sauce is too thin, mix a little seasoning flour with water, then add and stir into the steak sauce until thickened. Set aside.
-
Coat and Fry the Chicken:
- Slice the chicken breast fillets thinly and flatten. Coat each piece with the wet batter, then roll in the dry coating, pressing gently to adhere. For a thicker coating, repeat the process of dipping in wet batter and dry coating.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
-
Serve:
- Arrange the crispy chicken steaks on a serving plate alongside boiled carrots, green beans, corn (if using), and French fries.
- Serve with the prepared steak sauce and chili sauce on the side for dipping.
