  • 50 milliliters water

  • 2 scallions, chopped
  • 1 large onion, sliced lengthwise
  • 2 tablespoons ngohiong seasoning (Chinese five-spice powder)
  • 2 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
  • 100 milliliters water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and water to form a thick batter.
    • Add the chicken pieces to the batter, ensuring they are well coated.
    • Heat oil in a pan and fry the coated chicken pieces until golden and crispy. Once cooked, remove and set aside.

    • Add the remaining sliced onion and scallions to the sauce. Stir to combine.
    • Gently fold in the fried chicken pieces, ensuring they are well coated with the sauce.
    • Cook for an additional minute to let the flavors meld together.
  4. Serve:
