Cilok Goreng Telur Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup tapioca flour
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 scallion, thinly sliced
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Salt, to taste
  • Sugar, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Hot water, as needed

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, tapioca flour, finely chopped garlic, sliced scallion, salt, sugar, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.

  2. Add Water: Gradually add hot water to the dry ingredients, a little at a time, mixing as you go. Continue to add water until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough until smooth and well combined.

  3. Shape the Cilok: Take small portions of the dough and roll them into balls, shaping them according to your preference.

  4. Cook the Cilok: Bring a pot of water to a boil. Gently drop the dough balls into the boiling water. Cook until the cilok float to the surface, indicating they are cooked through. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain.

  5. Coat and Fry: Dip each cilok into the beaten egg, ensuring they are well-coated. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the cilok until golden brown and crispy.

  6. Serve: Your Cilok Goreng Telur is now ready to be served. Enjoy them plain or with a dipping sauce like Bangkok sauce for an extra burst of flavor.

Tips: These crispy treats are delightful as a snack or appetizer. For added flavor, consider sprinkling a bit of salt or seasoning on top after frying.
