Dori Teriyaki (Easy and Simple)

Ingredients:

Ingredient Amount
Dori fish fillet 1 fillet
Onion (small) 1/2 (if large, use 1/2 onion)
Green bell pepper (large) 1/2 (cut into pieces)
Garlic clove 1 clove (crushed and chopped)
All-purpose seasoning flour 3 tablespoons
Sweet soy sauce 1 tablespoon
Teriyaki sauce 3 tablespoons
Oyster sauce 1 tablespoon
Tomato ketchup 1 teaspoon
Butter for sautéing 1 tablespoon
Cornstarch 1 teaspoon
Salt To taste
Chicken bouillon powder To taste
Water As needed (for sauce consistency)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fish:

    • Rinse the dori fish fillet thoroughly and pat dry using paper towels. Cut the fish into bite-sized pieces according to your preference.
  2. Fry the Fish:

    • Heat oil in a pan for frying. Once hot, dredge the fish pieces in all-purpose seasoning flour, gently pressing to coat them well. Fry the fish pieces until golden and cooked through. Repeat the process until all the fish is fried.
  3. Sauté the Garlic:

    • Crush and finely chop the garlic. Set it aside for the next step.
  4. Make the Sauce:

    • In a separate pan, melt butter and add the garlic. Sauté until the garlic is fragrant. Add a generous amount of water (don’t overdo it; just enough to form the base of the sauce).
    • Stir in the teriyaki sauce, oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, and tomato ketchup. Season with salt and chicken bouillon powder. Cook the mixture until it begins to boil.
  5. Add Vegetables:

    • Once the sauce is boiling, add the sliced onions and green bell pepper. Cook the vegetables until they become slightly soft.
  6. Thicken the Sauce:

    • In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in a little water, then slowly add it to the sauce while stirring. Continue cooking until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
  7. Assemble the Dish:

    • Pour the prepared sauce over the fried fish fillets. Arrange the fish on a serving plate and generously coat them with the flavorful sauce and vegetables.
  8. Serve and Enjoy:

    • Your easy and simple Dori Teriyaki is ready to be served! Pair it with steamed rice for a complete meal. Enjoy!

This dish is a delightful and easy-to-make meal that combines the savory flavors of teriyaki and oyster sauce, complemented by the crispy fried dori fish and fresh vegetables. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner!
