Crispy Dory Steak

Ingredients

Sauté Vegetables 1 corn, cut into pieces
1 carrot, diced

1/2 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
Gravy 2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 onion, chopped
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
400 ml chicken broth
A pinch of black pepper
Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dory Steak: Squeeze lime juice over the dory fillets to eliminate any fishy odor. Season both sides of the fillets with salt and pepper, and let them sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.

  2. Batter the Fish: In a bowl, prepare a wet batter using the Qreezpy flour mixed with 150 ml of water. Coat the dory fillets in the batter, then dredge them in dry flour, pressing gently to achieve a crispy texture.

  3. Fry the Fish: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the coated dory fillets until they are golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.

  4. Sauté the Vegetables: In another pan, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until fragrant. Add the corn, carrot, and green beans, seasoning lightly with salt and pepper. Stir-fry until the vegetables are tender yet crisp, ensuring their flavor remains subtle to complement the dory and gravy.

  5. Prepare the Gravy: In a saucepan, sauté the minced garlic and onion in a little oil until fragrant. Sprinkle in the flour and stir well. Gradually add the chicken broth, mixing continuously to avoid lumps. Season with black pepper and salt to taste, adjusting until you reach your desired thickness.

  6. Serve: Plate the crispy dory steak alongside the sautéed vegetables and drizzle the gravy on top. For an extra touch, serve with boiled or fried potatoes on the side. Optional: Add sambal sauce for a spicy kick.
