Ayam Crispy (Homemade Seasoned Flour, No MSG)

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into small pieces

Homemade Flour Mix:

  • 250 grams low-protein wheat flour (e.g., Kunci Biru)
  • 30 grams rice flour
  • 20 grams cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt (add more if you prefer a saltier flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Oil for frying

Steps:

  1. Prepare the Wet Batter:

    • Take 3 tablespoons of the homemade flour mix (adjust the amount according to the quantity of chicken you are frying).
    • Mix the flour with a little water to create a medium-thick batter.
    • Add the chicken pieces to the batter, ensuring they are well-coated.
    • Let the chicken marinate for a while to absorb the flavors (for best results, marinate the chicken in the morning so it’s ready to fry whenever you want to eat).
  2. Prepare for Frying:

  3. Frying the Chicken:

    • Once the oil is hot, add the chicken pieces.
    • Fry until the chicken turns golden brown, then remove and drain on paper towels.
