Mujaer Goreng (Fried Mujaer)

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Mujaer (tilapia) 2 whole fish
Garlic (bawang putih) 3 cloves
Red onion (bawang merah) 2
Turmeric (kunyit) 2 cm
Ginger (jahe) 1 cm
Salt (garam) to taste
Seasoning powder (kaldu bubuk) to taste
Cooking oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fish: Clean the mujaer thoroughly under running water to remove any impurities.

  2. Marinate: In a blender, combine the garlic, red onion, turmeric, ginger, salt, and seasoning powder, and blend until smooth. Rub this mixture generously over the mujaer, ensuring it is well coated. Let it marinate for a while to absorb the flavors.

  3. Fry the Fish: Heat cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, gently place the marinated mujaer into the pan. Fry until the fish turns golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per side.

  4. Drain and Serve: Once cooked, carefully remove the fish from the pan and drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

  5. Enjoy: Serve the fried mujaer hot, paired with your favorite dipping sauce or side dish. Enjoy your meal!

Cooking Tips:

  • For extra crunch, you can coat the fish in a light dusting of flour before frying.
  • Serve with a squeeze of fresh lime or lemon for a refreshing twist.

Happy Cooking!
