Ikan Patin in Golden Spice Marinade (Ikan Patin Goreng Bumbu Kuning)

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Patin fish fillets 5 pieces
Lime 1 (for juice)
Salt To taste
Pepper To taste
Spice Paste
Garlic cloves 4
Candlenuts 2
Fresh turmeric (thumb-sized) 2 pieces

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fish: Squeeze lime juice over the Patin fish fillets and sprinkle with a generous pinch of salt. Let the fish marinate for about 15 minutes to help reduce any fishy aroma. After marinating, rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.

  2. Season with Spice Paste: In a food processor, blend the garlic, candlenuts, and turmeric into a smooth paste. Add salt and pepper to taste. Rub this spice paste all over the fish fillets and let them sit for an additional 15-30 minutes to allow the flavors to deeply penetrate the fish.

  3. Fry the Fish: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the fish and fry until golden brown and cooked through, turning as needed to ensure even cooking.

  4. Serve: Once fried to a crisp, transfer the fish to a serving plate. Ikan Patin Goreng Bumbu Kuning is now ready to serve. Enjoy with steamed rice for a satisfying meal!
