Fried Tempeh Seasoning (Bumbu Tempe Goreng)

Ingredients

Tempeh 1 block
Turmeric 2 cm
Coriander Seeds 1 tablespoon
Salt ½ tablespoon
Garlic 2 cloves
Water As needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Spice Paste: In a mortar or food processor, grind the turmeric, coriander seeds, salt, and garlic together into a smooth paste.

  2. Add Water: Once the spice mixture is smooth, gradually add water to the paste to create a liquid marinade.

  3. Marinate the Tempeh: Cut the tempeh into bite-sized pieces. Place them into a bowl and pour the spice marinade over the tempeh. Let it soak for about 10 minutes to absorb all the flavors.

  4. Fry the Tempeh: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the marinated tempeh until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Drain the excess oil on a paper towel.

  5. Serve: Enjoy the fried tempeh as a delicious snack or side dish alongside rice or other traditional meals!
