Instructions:

To begin with this delicious Goan-style mushrooms recipe, wash the mushrooms thoroughly and dry them well. After drying, slice the mushrooms in half through the stem to ensure that they cook evenly.

In a mixing bowl, combine semolina (sooji), rice flour, crushed garlic, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Toss the halved mushrooms into the mixture and stir gently to coat them well with the dry ingredients.

Next, heat oil in a pan or deep fryer over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the mushrooms and fry them until they turn crisp and golden brown. This should take about 15 minutes.

Once they’re done, remove the mushrooms from the oil and let them drain on paper towels to remove any excess oil.
