Crispy Tahu Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 pieces of yellow tofu (cut into small cubes and steamed briefly)
Wet Batter:
- 6 tablespoons of Sasa seasoned flour
- A pinch of ground black pepper
- A pinch of ground coriander
- Enough water to make a batter that’s not too thick or too runny
Dry Coating:
- 1 small sachet of Sasa seasoned flour
- 2 tablespoons of cornstarch (optional)
- A pinch of ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon of chicken bouillon powder or salt
Instructions:
-
Begin by steaming the tofu cubes until they are slightly tender. Allow them to cool slightly before handling.
-
In a bowl, prepare the wet batter by mixing 6 tablespoons of Sasa seasoned flour with a pinch of ground black pepper and ground coriander. Gradually add water until the batter reaches a consistency that is not too thick or too runny.
-
Dip each tofu cube into the wet batter, ensuring that it is well coated.
-
In a separate bowl, mix together 1 small sachet of Sasa seasoned flour with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch (if using), a pinch of ground black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon of chicken bouillon powder or salt.
-
Roll each battered tofu cube in the dry coating mixture, pressing gently to ensure an even coating.
-
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the coated tofu cubes until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides. This usually takes about 3-4 minutes per side.
-
Remove the tofu from the pan and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
-
Serve hot. Enjoy the crispy tofu as is, or sprinkle with additional seasoning or serve with your favorite dipping sauce for extra flavor.
This crispy tofu is a delightful treat that’s simple to make and perfect as a snack or appetizer. Enjoy the crunchy texture and flavorful coating!
