Spicy Sweet Sauce Gurame Fillet

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Gurame fish (large) 1 whole
Lime 1 piece
Fish fillet (cut into cubes) from the whole fish
Sajiku flour 1 pack
For the Sauce
Tomato sauce 4 tablespoons
Chili sauce 2 tablespoons
Oyster sauce 1 tablespoon
Onion (sliced) 1 piece
Shallots (sliced) 3 cloves
Garlic (minced) 2 cloves
Red chili (sliced) 2 pieces
Bird’s eye chili (finely sliced) 4 pieces
Cornstarch (mixed with water) 1 tablespoon
Green onion (sliced) 1 stalk
Water 1/4 cup
Ground pepper 1/2 teaspoon
Salt 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fish: Rub the fish fillets with lime juice and let them marinate briefly.
  2. Coat the Fish: Mix the Sajiku flour with a little water to create a batter. Dip the fish fillets into the batter and fry until golden brown. Also, fry the leftover fish bones until crispy.
  3. Make the Sauce: Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onion, shallots, and garlic until fragrant. Add the tomato sauce, chili sauce, and oyster sauce, stirring well.
  4. Thicken the Sauce: Pour in the cornstarch mixture, ground pepper, and water. Add the red chili and bird’s eye chili, then season with salt. Stir until the sauce thickens, and finish by adding the green onions.
  5. Serve: Arrange the fish fillets on the fried bones, drizzle with the sauce, and serve hot.
