Homemade Chicken Nuggets

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 kg chicken fillet, meat only, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 1 stalk spring onion (scallion), finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 8 shallots
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 1/2 kg tapioca flour
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and seasoning to taste
  • Bread crumbs or panko bread crumbs

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Wash the chicken thoroughly and cut into small pieces. Place the chicken in a blender.

  2. Blend the Chicken Mixture: Add 1 egg, garlic, shallots, ground pepper, and a little water to the blender. Blend until smooth.

  3. Prepare the Vegetables: Grate the carrot and finely chop the spring onion.

  4. Combine Ingredients: Transfer the blended chicken mixture into a mixing bowl. Add grated carrot, chopped spring onion, and tapioca flour (start with 10 tbsp and add more if needed for desired consistency).

  5. Season and Mix: Stir the mixture well until everything is evenly combined. Season with salt and seasoning to taste.

  6. Prepare for Steaming: Grease a container with butter or oil. Pour the chicken mixture into the container.

  7. Steam the Mixture: Steam in a steamer for 30-40 minutes or until cooked through.

  8. Cool and Cut: Once cooked, remove from the steamer and let it cool. Cut into small pieces.

  9. Coat and Fry: Prepare a bowl with the remaining egg (beaten) and another bowl with bread crumbs. Dip each piece of chicken mixture into the beaten egg, then coat with bread crumbs.

  10. Fry the Nuggets: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the nuggets until golden brown and crispy.

  11. Serve: Homemade chicken nuggets are ready to be served! They can also be stored in the freezer for future use, just fry them whenever needed.

Enjoy these delicious homemade chicken nuggets as a snack or a meal, perfect for kids and adults alike!
