Chicken Nuggets Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams chicken breast fillet
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 carrot (grated or finely chopped)
  • 1/2 onion (finely chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 to 1.5 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
  • 4 tablespoons bread crumbs (panir)
  • 5 tablespoons (100 grams) mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons tapioca flour or cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce (optional)
  • For coating:
    • Egg white
    • Bread crumbs (panir)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:

    • Finely chop the chicken breast fillet. For a smoother texture, you can use a food processor to chop the chicken into small pieces.
  2. Mix Ingredients:

    • In a large bowl, combine the chopped chicken with the grated carrot, chopped onion, crushed garlic, salt, granulated sugar, ground black pepper, chicken bouillon powder, bread crumbs, mayonnaise, tapioca flour (or cornstarch), and fish sauce (if using). Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Prepare the Steamer:

    • Lightly grease a baking tray with oil and line it with baking paper to prevent sticking.
  4. Steam the Nuggets:

    • Spread the nugget mixture evenly in the prepared baking tray. Smooth the surface with a spatula.
    • Steam the nugget mixture for 25 to 30 minutes. Ensure that there is plenty of steam in the steamer to cook the nuggets properly.
  5. Cool and Slice:

    • Allow the steamed nugget mixture to cool completely. Once cooled, cut it into nugget-sized pieces according to your preference.
  6. Coat the Nuggets:

    • Beat the egg whites in a shallow bowl.
    • Dip each nugget piece into the egg white, then coat it with additional bread crumbs. For a thicker coating, you can repeat this process.
  7. Freeze for Later:

    • Arrange the coated nugget pieces in an airtight container and freeze. These nuggets can be kept in the freezer until you’re ready to cook them.
  8. Cooking:

    • When ready to eat, heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the frozen nuggets until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside, and cooked through on the inside.
  9. Serve:

    • Serve the freshly fried nuggets with your choice of dipping sauce or mayonnaise.
