Homemade Chicken Nuggets Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams chicken breast fillet
  • 1 carrot
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • A pinch of chicken bouillon powder (Royco)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Bread crumbs, for coating
  • For the dipping batter:
    • All-purpose flour

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Begin by finely chopping the chicken breast fillet. For a smoother texture, blend the chicken until it is finely ground. Adding eggs during the blending process helps achieve a consistent mixture.

  2. Flavor the Mixture: Peel and finely mince the garlic. Peel the carrot and grate it using a cheese grater. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken with cornstarch, ground black pepper, sugar, grated carrot, salt, chicken bouillon powder, eggs, and sesame oil. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated. Taste the mixture and adjust seasoning if necessary.

  3. Steam the Mixture: Transfer the nugget mixture into a heatproof dish suitable for steaming. Steam the mixture for about 20 minutes or until it is cooked through and firm.

  4. Shape and Coat: Once the mixture is cooked and cooled slightly, cut it into nugget-sized pieces. Dip each piece into a batter made from all-purpose flour, then coat with bread crumbs.

  5. Cook the Nuggets: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the nuggets until golden brown and crispy on the outside. Alternatively, you can freeze the nuggets for later use. Place them in an airtight container or freezer bag and store in the freezer.

  6. Serve: When ready to enjoy, simply fry the frozen nuggets directly from the freezer. Serve hot and crispy!
