Cireng Isi Kornet dan Telur: A Delicious Indonesian Snack Recipe
Ingredients:
- 500 grams Tapioca Flour
- 150 grams All-Purpose Flour
- Salt, to taste
- Black Pepper, to taste
- Flavor Enhancer (Masako), to taste
- 2 Green Onions, finely sliced
- Boiling Water, as needed
- Vegetable Oil, for frying
- 1 Can Corned Beef
- 2 Eggs
- 4 Cloves Garlic
- 2 Red Onions
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Cireng Dough:
- Start by finely chopping 3 cloves of garlic and slicing 2 green onions.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the tapioca flour, all-purpose flour, sliced green onions, chopped garlic, salt, black pepper, and flavor enhancer (Masako). Mix well to distribute all ingredients evenly.
- Gradually add boiling water to the dry mixture while stirring continuously until the dough becomes smooth and non-sticky. You may not need all the boiling water; add it incrementally until the desired consistency is achieved.
- Once the dough is ready, set it aside.
-
Prepare the Corned Beef Filling:
- Finely chop 1 clove of garlic and 2 red onions.
- Heat a small amount of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and onions, sautéing until they become fragrant and translucent.
- Add the corned beef to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the corned beef is heated through and well mixed with the garlic and onions. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
-
Prepare the Egg Filling:
- Hard boil 2 eggs. Once cooked, peel and cut 1 of the eggs into 8 small pieces.
-
Assemble the Cireng:
- Lightly dust your working surface with tapioca flour to prevent sticking. Take a portion of the dough and flatten it into a thin circle.
- Place a small amount of the corned beef filling or a few pieces of the boiled egg in the center of the dough circle.
- Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape, sealing the edges by pressing them together. Use a fork to crimp the edges, ensuring they are well sealed.
-
Fry the Cireng:
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over low heat. Carefully place the filled dough pieces into the hot oil.
- Fry the Cireng, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides. Take care to maintain a low heat to ensure even cooking and prevent burning.
-
Serve:
- Once cooked, remove the Cireng from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot and enjoy this tasty Indonesian snack!
