Crispy Indonesian Tahu Bulat with Sausage Filling
Simple Tahu Bulat Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 block tofu
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 tablespoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon seasoning (optional)
- 1 sausage (diced, for filling)
- Oil, for frying
- Sauce, for serving (optional)

Prepare the Ingredients: Begin by gathering all the necessary ingredients and tools. 
- 
Drain the Tofu: Wrap the tofu in a clean cloth or paper towel and press down gently to remove excess moisture. Ensure the tofu is thoroughly dried to achieve a crispy texture when fried.

Mix the Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine the dried tofu, egg, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and seasoning (if using). Stir the mixture until well incorporated.

Shape the Tahu Bulat: Scoop portions of the tofu mixture and shape them into small balls. If desired, insert a small piece of diced sausage into the center of each ball before shaping.

Heat the Oil: Pour enough oil into a frying pan or wok to submerge the tofu balls. Heat the oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
