For the Four Pepper Cheese Dip:

Ingredients Quantity
Britannia Cheese Spread – Four Pepper Tango 3 tablespoons
Hung Curd (Greek Yogurt) 3 tablespoons
Parsley leaves, finely chopped 2 sprigs
Salt To taste

Preparation Time: 60 minutes

Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes

Servings: 4-6

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Potato Cheese Ball Mixture:

    • Begin by combining the mashed potatoes, pickled jalapenos, parsley, and salt in a large bowl. Mix everything well to incorporate the flavors.
    • Shape the potato mixture into ping pong-sized balls.
    • Flatten each ball slightly, and place a small piece of Britannia Cheese Cube in the center. Fold the edges over the cheese and roll the mixture back into a ball shape.
  2. Chill the Potato Cheese Balls:

    • Place the formed Jalapeno Potato Cheese Balls on a tray and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. Chilling them will help them hold their shape while frying.
  3. Prepare the Coating:

    • In a plate, mix the dried mixed herbs with whole wheat breadcrumbs. This herbed breadcrumb coating will give the cheese balls an extra layer of flavor and crispness.
  4. Coat the Cheese Balls:

    • After 30 minutes, remove the Jalapeno Potato Cheese Balls from the fridge.
    • Dip each ball into the whisked eggs to coat, then roll them in the breadcrumb mixture until evenly covered. Repeat this process for all the potato cheese balls.
  5. Fry the Cheese Balls:

    • Heat a kuzhi paniyaram pan (or any shallow pan) on medium heat and add a little oil to each cavity.
    • Once the pan is hot, carefully place the coated cheese balls into the pan’s cavities. Drizzle a little oil over the top of the balls and pan fry them, turning occasionally until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides. This should take around 5-7 minutes per side.
  6. Drain and Serve:

    • Once the balls are golden and crispy, remove them from the pan and place them on paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
  7. Prepare the Four Pepper Cheese Dip:

    • While the cheese balls are frying, prepare the Four Pepper Cheese Dip by mixing the Britannia Cheese Spread – Four Pepper Tango with hung curd (Greek yogurt) in a small bowl.
    • Stir in the finely chopped parsley and season with salt to taste.
  8. Serve and Enjoy:

    • Serve the Jalapeno Potato Cheese Balls hot with the Four Pepper Cheese Dip on the side for a perfect appetizer or snack.
