Korean Chicken Wings Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Chicken Wings:

  • 500 grams chicken wings
  • 200 grams cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

For the Marinade:

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Juice of 1 lime

For the Sauce:

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons teriyaki sauce
  • 2 teaspoons tomato ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons oyster sauce
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, minced

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Chicken:

    • In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, minced ginger, black pepper, salt, and lime juice. Add the chicken wings and mix well, ensuring the wings are thoroughly coated. Cover and marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Chicken Wings:

    • In a separate bowl, mix the cornstarch, black pepper, chicken bouillon powder, and salt. Take the marinated chicken wings, shake off any excess marinade, and dredge them in the cornstarch mixture. Press down lightly to ensure the coating adheres well.
  3. Fry the Chicken Wings:

    • Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry the coated chicken wings in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook until golden brown and crispy, approximately 8-10 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in the sugar, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, tomato ketchup, oyster sauce, honey, and sesame oil. Cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce has thickened slightly, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Combine and Serve:

    • Add the fried chicken wings to the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently until the wings are evenly coated and heated through. Serve hot and enjoy the crispy, flavorful Korean chicken wings!

This recipe offers a delicious and crispy twist on Korean-style chicken wings with a savory and slightly sweet sauce that will surely be a hit at any gathering.
