Crispy Fried Gurameh Fish

Ingredients:

  • 2 whole gurameh fish (or any similar freshwater fish)
  • 1 lime
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • Ground coriander (to taste)
  • Cooking oil (for frying)
  • 2 tablespoons rice flour

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fish: Begin by thoroughly cleaning the gurameh fish. Rub the fish with the juice of one lime and sprinkle with salt. Allow the fish to marinate for a few minutes to absorb the flavors.

  2. Season the Fish: Evenly dust the fish with ground coriander. Then, lightly sprinkle rice flour over the fish. The coating should be thin and even; avoid applying too much flour to ensure a crisp finish.

  3. Heat the Oil: Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Ensure there is enough oil to submerge the fish for an even frying process.

  4. Fry the Fish: Carefully place the fish into the hot oil. Fry until the fish is golden and crispy, turning only once to avoid breaking the delicate crust. Monitor the frying process closely to prevent burning.

  5. Serve: Once fried, remove the fish from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately while crispy.

Enjoy your crispy fried gurameh fish, a delectable treat with a perfect balance of flavors and textures!
