Roti with Smoked Beef and Mozzarella

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack white bread (10 slices)
  • 1 pack mozzarella cheese
  • 5 slices pre-cooked smoked beef
  • Mayonnaise, to taste
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Bread crumbs, for coating
  • Oil, for frying
  • Tomato sauce, for serving
  • Chili sauce, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Ingredients:

    • Slice the mozzarella cheese into long strips or according to your preference.
    • Cut the smoked beef into pieces of your choice.
    • Use a rolling pin or the bottom of a glass to flatten the slices of white bread. This step helps in rolling and prevents the bread from absorbing too much oil during frying.
  2. Assemble the Rolls:

    • Lay out a slice of the prepared bread. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise over the surface.
    • Place a few slices of smoked beef on the bread, followed by a few strips of mozzarella cheese.
    • Carefully roll or fold the bread slice around the filling, securing the ingredients inside. Repeat this process until all ingredients are used up.
  3. Coat the Rolls:

    • Dip each filled bread roll into the beaten egg, making sure it is well-coated.
    • Roll the egg-coated bread in bread crumbs, pressing lightly to ensure an even coating. Repeat for all the rolls.
  4. Fry the Rolls:

    • Heat a generous amount of oil in a frying pan over medium heat. The oil should be hot but not smoking.
    • Fry the bread rolls in batches, turning them occasionally until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides. Be careful not to fry them for too long to prevent the mozzarella from oozing out.
  5. Serve:

    • Remove the rolls from the oil and drain them on paper towels.
    • Serve warm with tomato sauce and chili sauce for dipping.
