Crispy Patin Fish with Spicy Sauce

Ingredients:

Main Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kg Patin fish (or substitute with shrimp, if desired)
  • All-purpose flour (for coating)
  • Instant flour (e.g., Sajiku brand)
  • 1 Egg
  • Oyster sauce

For the Sauce:

  • Belibis brand soy sauce
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 Stalk of green onion
  • 3 Bird’s eye chilies
  • 2 Large red chilies
  • Salt and sugar to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fish:

    • Clean the Patin fish thoroughly and cut it into two pieces.
    • In a bowl, beat the egg and set it aside.
    • Coat the fish pieces with all-purpose flour, then dip them into the beaten egg, and coat again with flour.
    • Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the coated fish pieces until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:

    • Slice the onion, bird’s eye chilies, and large red chilies thinly.
    • Cut the carrot, green onion, and tomato into thin slices as well.
    • In a separate pan, heat a small amount of oil. Add the sliced onion and sauté until softened.
    • Add the chilies and continue to stir-fry.
    • Add the carrot and green onion, cooking until just tender (avoid overcooking).
    • Season with salt and sugar to taste. Pour in half a glass of water and bring to a boil.
    • Adjust the seasoning as needed and let the sauce simmer until flavors meld together.
  3. Combine and Serve:

    • Arrange the crispy Patin fish on a serving plate.
    • Spoon the spicy sauce over the fish.
    • Serve immediately and enjoy!

This recipe combines crispy, golden Patin fish with a flavorful, spicy sauce, creating a delicious and satisfying dish perfect for any occasion.
