Potato Omelet (Telur Dadar Kentang)

Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 medium potato
  • 3 shallots, thinly sliced
  • 1 stalk of green onion, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Thinly slice the potato and fry in hot oil until halfway cooked. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.

  2. Mix the Eggs: In a bowl, beat the eggs and combine with the thinly sliced shallots, chopped green onion, salt, and pepper.

  3. Incorporate the Potatoes: Gently fold the pre-fried potato slices into the egg mixture. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  4. Cook the Omelet: Heat a generous amount of oil in a pan over medium heat. Pour in the egg and potato mixture, spreading it evenly. Cook until the edges are golden and the center is set, flipping halfway through if necessary.

  5. Serve: Once cooked, transfer the omelet to a serving plate. Serve warm and enjoy!

This classic Indonesian potato omelet is a comforting and easy-to-make dish that pairs beautifully with a variety of meals or stands alone as a satisfying snack.
