Crispy Fried Red Tilapia

Ingredients:

  • 4 Red Tilapia fish
  • 6 tablespoons seasoned flour
  • Salt, to taste
  • 3 cm turmeric (fresh)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fish: Clean the red tilapia thoroughly, ensuring all scales and internal organs are removed. Pat the fish dry with paper towels.

  2. Make the Spice Paste: Peel the turmeric and garlic. Using a mortar and pestle or a food processor, grind the turmeric, garlic, and coriander seeds into a smooth paste.

  3. Season the Fish: In a large bowl, combine the cleaned tilapia with the ground spice paste and seasoned flour. Mix well until the fish is evenly coated with the mixture.

  4. Heat the Oil: Pour enough oil into a frying pan to cover the bottom generously and heat over medium-high heat until hot.

  5. Fry the Fish: Carefully place the coated tilapia into the hot oil. Fry the fish until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per side, depending on the size of the fish. Ensure the fish is cooked through and has a nice crisp exterior.

  6. Drain and Serve: Remove the fried fish from the pan and place it on paper towels to drain any excess oil. Serve hot and enjoy your crispy fried tilapia.

This dish pairs wonderfully with steamed rice and a side of fresh vegetables for a complete and satisfying meal.
