Crispy Shrimp and Tofu Nuggets (Nugget UHu) Recipe
Ingredients:
- 10 large shrimp (approximately 200g), peeled and deveined
- 2-3 blocks of tofu
- 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons tapioca flour
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 shallots, finely chopped
- 2 eggs (1 for the batter and 1 for frying)
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 tablespoons chopped celery
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Cooking oil, for frying

Prepare the Mixture:
- In a food processor or blender, combine the shrimp, tofu, and one egg. Blend until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

Mix the Ingredients:
- Transfer the blended mixture to a large bowl. Stir in the diced carrots, chopped celery, and green onions until evenly distributed.

Add the Flours:
- Gradually incorporate the all-purpose flour and tapioca flour into the mixture. Mix thoroughly until the batter is smooth and consistent.

Prepare the Steaming Tray:
- Grease a clean baking tray with oil or margarine. Pour the batter into the tray, spreading it out evenly.

Steam the Batter:
- Place the tray into a steamer and steam for 30 minutes. Once done, remove the tray and let it cool to room temperature. After cooling, cut the mixture into nugget-sized pieces.

- Pour breadcrumbs into a shallow dish. Beat the remaining egg in another bowl.
- Dip each nugget piece first into the beaten egg, then coat it thoroughly with breadcrumbs. For a crispier coating, repeat the dipping process (egg, then breadcrumbs) and gently press the breadcrumbs onto the nuggets to ensure they stick well.

- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the breaded nuggets into the pan.
- Fry the nuggets until they are golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking. Remove the nuggets from the pan and drain on paper towels.
