Spicy Salted Tofu (Tahu Cabe Garam)

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Firm tofu, cut into small cubes 7 pieces
All-purpose flour 3 tablespoons
Seasonings
Garlic cloves, minced 4 cloves
Red chili peppers, finely chopped 4 pieces
Scallion, sliced 1 stalk
Salt To taste
Black pepper To taste
Sugar To taste
Flavor enhancer (optional) To taste

Instructions

  1. Coat the Tofu
Toss the cubed tofu in the all-purpose flour, making sure each piece is evenly coated.

  2. Fry the Tofu
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the tofu cubes until they turn golden brown and crispy. Remove the tofu from the pan and drain excess oil on a paper towel.

  3. Prepare the Seasonings
In a separate pan, sauté the minced garlic and chopped chilies with a little oil. Stir-fry until they begin to soften and become fragrant.

  4. Add Flavorings
Add salt, sugar, black pepper, and flavor enhancer (if using) to the garlic and chili mixture. Stir everything until well combined.

  5. Combine and Infuse
Gently mix the fried tofu into the pan, coating it with the garlic-chili mixture. Toss in the sliced scallions and continue to stir for a few minutes, allowing the seasonings to fully infuse into the tofu.

  6. Serve
Once the tofu has absorbed the flavors, remove it from the heat and serve immediately. Enjoy your crispy and flavorful Spicy Salted Tofu!
