Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Tahu Putih (tofu) 6, diced
Cabai Rawit Merah (bird’s eye chili) 10, thinly sliced
Cabai Merah Besar (red chili) 1, thinly sliced
Bawang Putih (garlic) 5 cloves, diced
Daun Jeruk (kaffir lime leaves) 2, thinly sliced
Telur Ayam (egg) 1, beaten
Tepung Serbaguna (all-purpose flour) as needed (I used Sasa tempura flour)
Garam (salt) to taste
Royco (seasoning powder) to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tofu: Dice the tofu into cubes and immerse them in the beaten egg. Coat thoroughly with all-purpose flour, ensuring each piece is well-covered. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the tofu until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  2. Sauté the Aromatics: In the same pan, add the sliced bird’s eye chilies, red chili, garlic, and kaffir lime leaves. Sauté until fragrant, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully.

  3. Combine Ingredients: Add the fried tofu to the pan with the sautéed aromatics. Sprinkle Royco seasoning and salt to taste, mixing well to ensure the tofu is coated evenly.

  4. Serve: Plate the Tahu Cabe Garam and enjoy this spicy, savory delight!
