Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Tempe:

    • Cut the tempe into slices approximately 2 cm thick. Then, make a slit in the center of each slice to create a pocket for the filling.
  2. Make the Filling:

    • In a mortar, coarsely crush the red onion, garlic, sugar, salt, small red tomato, large red chili peppers, and bird’s eye chilies until you achieve a rough paste.
    • Heat a small amount of oil in a pan, and sauté the filling mixture until fragrant. Set it aside to cool.
  3. Stuff the Tempe:

    • Once the filling has cooled slightly, stuff it into the slits of the tempe slices.
  4. Prepare the Batter:
