Tahu Walik Recipe
Ingredients:
- 20 pieces of fried tofu (tahu)
- 150 grams chicken fillet (blended)
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons tapioca flour
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 stalk green onion (sliced)
- Salt, ground pepper, and chicken bouillon powder to taste
- Hot water as needed
Steps:
-
Prepare the Chicken Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the blended chicken fillet with minced garlic. Add the sliced green onion, and season with salt, ground pepper, and chicken bouillon powder to taste.
-
Mix the Batter: Incorporate the all-purpose flour and tapioca flour into the chicken mixture. Gradually add hot water while stirring quickly until the mixture is well combined and smooth.
-
Prepare the Tofu: Carefully slice each piece of fried tofu, then gently invert them so that the inside is facing outward. Briefly soak the inverted tofu pieces in a bowl of water seasoned with chicken bouillon to enhance the flavor of the inner part.
-
Stuff and Fry: Fill each piece of tofu with the prepared chicken mixture. Heat oil in a frying pan over low heat, and carefully fry the stuffed tofu until golden brown and crispy.
-
Serve: Enjoy your Tahu Walik hot, served with a side of sambal kecap (sweet soy sauce with chili).
