Tahu Walik Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 20 pieces of fried tofu (tahu)
  • 150 grams chicken fillet (blended)
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons tapioca flour
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 stalk green onion (sliced)
  • Salt, ground pepper, and chicken bouillon powder to taste
  • Hot water as needed

Steps:

  1. Prepare the Chicken Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the blended chicken fillet with minced garlic. Add the sliced green onion, and season with salt, ground pepper, and chicken bouillon powder to taste.

  2. Mix the Batter: Incorporate the all-purpose flour and tapioca flour into the chicken mixture. Gradually add hot water while stirring quickly until the mixture is well combined and smooth.

  3. Prepare the Tofu: Carefully slice each piece of fried tofu, then gently invert them so that the inside is facing outward. Briefly soak the inverted tofu pieces in a bowl of water seasoned with chicken bouillon to enhance the flavor of the inner part.

  4. Stuff and Fry: Fill each piece of tofu with the prepared chicken mixture. Heat oil in a frying pan over low heat, and carefully fry the stuffed tofu until golden brown and crispy.

  5. Serve: Enjoy your Tahu Walik hot, served with a side of sambal kecap (sweet soy sauce with chili).

This Tahu Walik recipe offers a delightful blend of crispy tofu with a flavorful chicken stuffing, perfect for a savory snack or appetizer.
