Tahu Walik Isi Ayam: A Delicious Indonesian Treat
Ingredients:
- 10 pieces of tofu (Tahu Pong), sliced in half
- For the filling:
- 500 grams chicken meat
- 2 egg whites
- 1 stalk green onion, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Garlic powder, to taste
- Mushroom seasoning, to taste
- 6 ice cubes
- 1.5 cups tapioca flour (Tepung Kanji)
Instructions:

Prepare the Tofu:
- Slice each piece of tofu diagonally to create a pocket. Carefully scoop out the filling from inside each piece of tofu, and set the tofu aside.

Make the Filling:
- In a food processor, combine the chicken meat, egg whites, green onions, oyster sauce, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and mushroom seasoning. Blend until smooth and well combined. Add the reserved tofu filling and blend briefly to incorporate.

Stuff the Tofu:
- Fill each tofu pocket with the chicken mixture, pressing it in gently to ensure it’s well packed.

Fry the Tofu:
- Heat oil in a deep pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully place the stuffed tofu pieces into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.

Drain and Serve:
- Remove the tofu from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with fresh chili peppers on the side for added spice.
