Sweet and Sour Chicken Fillet

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams chicken fillet
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 sachet tomato ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Salt and sugar to taste
  • Seasoned flour

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Cut the chicken fillet into bite-sized cubes. Coat the pieces thoroughly with seasoned flour. Heat oil in a frying pan and cook the chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.

  2. Sauté Aromatics: Crush the garlic cloves and finely slice the onion and tomato. Heat a small amount of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the garlic, onion, and tomato, and sauté until they are soft and aromatic.

  3. Make the Sauce: Add a bit of water to the pan with the sautéed ingredients. Stir in the cornstarch, which will help thicken the sauce. Next, add the tomato ketchup along with sugar and salt to taste. Mix well until the sauce is smooth and well combined.

  4. Combine Chicken and Sauce: Return the fried chicken pieces to the pan with the sauce. Stir well to coat the chicken evenly with the sauce and ensure it is heated through.

  5. Adjust Seasoning: Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with additional sugar or salt if needed. Allow everything to simmer for a few minutes so the flavors meld together.

  6. Serve: Transfer the sweet and sour chicken to a serving dish. Enjoy this flavorful dish with steamed rice or as a standalone treat.
