Sweet and Sour Gurame Fish (Gurame Asam Manis)
Ingredients:

Fish and Vegetables:
- 500g Gurame fish
- 2 carrots, julienned

Spice Paste:
- 5 shallots
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 1 tomato
- Large red chilies (to taste)
- Small red chilies (to taste)
- 2 packets of chili sauce
- Tomato sauce (bottled)

Additional Ingredients:
- Cornstarch
- Turmeric
- Salt, sugar, pepper
Instructions:

Prepare the Fish:
- Grind the turmeric with some salt and mix with water to create a marinade.
- Soak the Gurame fish in the marinade for about 10 minutes.
- Fry the fish until it is golden and crispy. Set aside.

Prepare the Sweet and Sour Sauce:
- Finely chop the shallots, garlic, and tomato.
- In a pan, sauté the chopped shallots, garlic, and tomato until fragrant.
- Add the julienned carrots and continue to stir-fry.
- Pour in the chili sauce and tomato sauce. Season with salt, sugar, and pepper to taste.
- Adjust the flavor until it is well balanced.
- Dissolve some cornstarch in water and add to the sauce to thicken it.
- Continue to cook until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.

- Place the fried Gurame fish on a serving plate.
- Pour the sweet and sour sauce over the fish.
