Tahu Mahkota (Tahu Bihun) Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 large blocks of white tofu
- 1 package (200g) of bihun (rice vermicelli)
- 4 eggs
- 2 medium carrots
- A handful of scallions (daun bawang) and celery leaves (seledri)
- For the Spice Paste:
- 1 onion
- 3 cloves of garlic
- Black pepper to taste
- Royco seasoning (optional)
- Salt and sugar to taste
- For Coating:
- All-purpose flour, diluted with water to make a batter
- Breadcrumbs
Instructions:

Prepare the Tofu:
- Steam the tofu blocks for approximately 15 minutes. Once done, remove from the steamer and let them drain and cool.

Prepare the Vermicelli:
- Soak the bihun (rice vermicelli) in hot water until they become soft. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Vegetables:
- Dice the carrots into small pieces. Chop the scallions and celery leaves finely.

Make the Spice Paste:
- Slice the onion and garlic. Sauté them in a pan until they become fragrant and translucent.

Combine Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, combine the steamed tofu, soaked bihun, diced carrots, chopped scallions, and celery leaves. Add the sautéed onion and garlic, then season with black pepper, Royco (if using), salt, and sugar. Mix well.

Steam the Mixture:
- Transfer the mixture into a steaming dish and steam for about 15 minutes. Allow it to cool completely.

Coat and Fry:
- Cut the steamed mixture into desired shapes. Dip each piece into the flour batter, then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the coated pieces until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
