Tahu Walik Isi Aci: A Crispy Indonesian Delight

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Fried Tofu (store-bought) 10 pieces
Tapioca Flour 3 tablespoons
All-Purpose Flour 1 teaspoon
Garlic (finely minced) 1 large clove
Green Onion (chopped) 1 stalk
Celery (chopped) 1 stalk
Soft Tofu (mashed) 1 piece
Water As needed
Sugar To taste
Salt To taste
Ground Black Pepper ½ teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tofu: Carefully scrape the inside of the fried tofu to create a pocket, flipping it so that the yellow skin is now on the inside and the white skin is on the outside.

  2. Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed soft tofu, tapioca flour, all-purpose flour, minced garlic, chopped green onions, chopped celery, and the scraped tofu filling. Add water gradually until the mixture reaches a paste-like consistency. Season with sugar, salt, and ground black pepper.

  3. Stuff the Tofu: Gently fill each piece of prepared tofu with the mixture, ensuring it is packed well.

  4. Fry the Tofu: Heat a generous amount of oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the stuffed tofu into the oil and fry until golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

  5. Serve: Once fried, drain on paper towels to remove excess oil. Serve warm as a delicious snack or appetizer.

Enjoy your homemade Tahu Walik Isi Aci, a perfect blend of crispy texture and savory filling that’s sure to impress!
