Bola-Bola Tempe Isi Telur (Tempe Balls with Egg Filling)

Ingredients

Tempe 1 piece
Egg 1 piece
Seasoning to taste
Quail eggs (boiled) to taste
Cheese to taste
Breadcrumbs to coat
Liquid milk as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tempe: Begin by steaming the tempe until it’s cooked through, then mash it until smooth in texture.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed tempe with one beaten egg and the desired amount of seasoning for flavor.
  3. Form the Balls: Take a small portion of the tempe mixture, flatten it slightly, and place a boiled quail egg in the center. Encase the egg completely with the tempe mixture and shape it into a ball.
  4. Chill: Place the formed tempe balls in the refrigerator for a bit to firm them up.
  5. Prepare for Frying: Once chilled, take the tempe balls out. In a separate bowl, whisk together another egg with liquid milk. Dip each ball into the egg mixture, then roll them in breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
  6. Fry: Heat oil in a frying pan, and fry the coated tempe balls until they turn golden brown and crispy.
