Green onions (daun bawang) 2 stalks
Water (balimbing cup) 2 cups
For Spice Paste (Bumbu Halus):

Instructions:

Step Instructions
1. Slice the tempe into thin pieces. Then, cut the green onions into small pieces.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour with the ground spice paste, which includes garlic, coriander, and salt. Gradually add water while stirring until the batter thickens slightly.
3. Heat oil in a frying pan over low heat. Once the oil is hot, dip the tempe and green onion slices into the batter and fry them in small batches. Cook them over low heat to ensure they crisp up evenly.
4. Fry until golden and crispy, then remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.
5. Serve the Tempe Mendoan hot with fresh chili peppers (cabai rawit) for a spicy kick. Enjoy!
