Indulge in a delightful twist on traditional nuggets with this delicious Tempe Nugget recipe, perfect for any meal or snack!

Ingredients

Tempe (preferably wrapped in banana leaves) 500 grams
Carrots 2, diced
Green onions To taste
Celery To taste
Chicken eggs 2, beaten
Breadcrumbs As needed
All-purpose flour 4 tablespoons
Tapioca flour 2 tablespoons

Spice Blend (to be blended)

Instructions

  1. Steam the Tempe: Begin by steaming the tempe for a few minutes until tender.

  2. Mash the Tempe: Once steamed, mash the tempe using a mortar and pestle or blend until smooth.

  3. Prepare Vegetables: Dice the carrots, green onions, and celery, then add them to the mashed tempe mixture.

  4. Combine Ingredients: Add the blended spice mixture and beaten eggs into the tempe, stirring until well combined.

  5. Shape the Nuggets: Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, smoothing it out evenly. Steam for an additional 20-25 minutes until cooked through. Once done, let it cool and then cut into desired nugget shapes.

  6. Coat the Nuggets: Roll each nugget in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
