Crispy Tofu and Bean Sprout Stir-Fry

Stir-Fried Tofu and Bean Sprouts

Ingredients:

  • 6 pieces of white tofu (one package), cut into small cubes
  • Fresh bean sprouts, washed and drained
  • 1 package of oyster sauce or teriyaki sauce
  • Red chilies and curly chilies, thinly sliced (to taste)
  • 4 cloves of shallots, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 tomato, chopped
  • Sugar and salt, to taste
  • Cooking oil, for sautéing

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Tofu: Heat oil in a pan and fry the tofu pieces until golden and crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside. Once cooled, cut the tofu into small cubes.

  2. Sauté Aromatics: In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed. Sauté the sliced shallots and garlic until they turn fragrant and golden brown.

  3. Add Spices and Vegetables: Add the sliced red and curly chilies to the pan, followed by the chopped tomato. Stir in the oyster or teriyaki sauce, and season with sugar and salt. Cook until the chilies are slightly softened.

  4. Combine Ingredients: Add the tofu cubes and bean sprouts to the pan. Stir well to combine and allow the flavors to meld. Add a small amount of water if needed to help with the cooking.

  5. Final Adjustments: Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Be careful not to overcook the bean sprouts; they should remain crisp.

  6. Serve: Once everything is well combined and heated through, remove from heat. Serve hot as a delicious and nutritious side dish or main course.
